Restore the Statue. Bring Joe Home!
This is an intergenerational project conducted by Joe’s former players to honor Joe Paterno’s lasting impact, we invite you to watch these videos, discover ‘The Joe We Know,’ and share his story so the Grand Experiment lives on.”
This intergenerational project, created by Joe Paterno’s former players, is driven by two core goals.
❶ First, we aim to find meaningful and lasting ways to honor Joe and Sue Paterno for their extraordinary contributions to Penn State’s academic, cultural, physical, and athletic legacy. Their influence extends far beyond the football field—shaping the lives of generations of students, alumni, and members of the broader community.
Among the most fitting tributes would be the return of Joe’s statue to a place of prominence on campus.
❷ Second we invite you to watch these videos and get to know “The Joe We Know.” Through these stories, you’ll hear firsthand how Joe wasn’t just a coach. His philosophy, “The Grand Experiment,” challenged us to be exceptional not only on the field, but in the classroom and in life.
We encourage you to reflect on his legacy and share these conversations with family and friends—so that the values he instilled in us live on.
